Dearest Everyman and Everywoman

Our LAST SHOW (for a very very long time) will be on October 28 at Great American Music Hall with Scissors for Lefty. We're saying "So Long" and "C'ya" but also "Big Thank You" to all that seen us through since that Odeon gig in the early oughts and a "Super Big Thank You" to our manager Joyce, whose special showcase party this night also is. See you there!

expect us to keep creating and performing in different outfits and different locations.

NEW FALL COLOURS
of the ebb and flow

Fall is the busy c-son for the E&F. the biggie news is that the album is finished, done, put a spork in it it's done! it's the best we ever did done, and a lot of kudo goes to Christian Hanlon and AAAron Prellwitz.
now, where and how will you hear it? we're working on that, stay tuned...

We organizing an extra awesome benefit show for a non-profit World Access for the Blind

This unique org teaches blind kids and adults how to echolocate. And it deserves all of our support. The benefit show will happen on January 18, 2007 at Cafe Dunord with the gracious help from
Michael Zapruder's Rain of Frogs,
The Ebb and Flow performing our album "Time to Echolocate"
and amazing new band from Bart Davenport

Ahora Por Que? Por que!
news of the autumnal swish approaching

the E&F has had a very good tour. we definitely enjoyed ourselves, yourselves and the elves. If the first tour was like Ebbers in Wonderland this tour was Through the Flooking Glass. Some shoutouts go to Mike (batteries), Daniel (Dallas), Greg (Tulsa), Michael (Madison), Faiz (International) and Cassettis, Whelpleys, Kheshtis, Casanovas and Carmi Smiths, fourlegged bowlegged and no legged all, for letting us crash. (Forget anyone?)
an extra special wink goes out to Sean P. for making our last show in Portland sweet and lowdown.
Award season is over, now it's time to finish our grand scheme album and prepare for the battles of suitable release.
await for this, it's not a bus but like the rust on carcass of your once beloved mutt, will shiver you should you

it's the busy season for us at the E+F...we're mixing our album, planning our tour and putting out an EP.
This Ep is going to include 3 songs from the new sessions and also 2 remixxxes of songs from Time to Echolocate. You'll be able to purchase it at our shows only for now... limited new edition, as they say, bobby brown. The EP release home party is scheduled for June 22nd at Amnesia with Big Bend and Andre Karpov (featuring one of our own on accordion hands)
In July we set off on our second world tour, this time confining the world to 16 major towns in the mid, south, and west western american states. We can confine the world alright. Check for updates on our shows page or on our myspace.com/theebbandflow

Y Ahora Que?
news of the spring constant

They will know us by the trail of the magnetic bits on the 2 inch tape, if they know us at all. Folks we've recorded some songs in a 4 day session that felt like 4 hours (to sam of us at least), now comes the careful part of mixing and fixing. Overall we're very excited with what we've got.
In the mean green time as you're fighting off the spring bugs, we could use your help in suggestions for album names.

Go to this wiki page elbumname,pbwiki.com Log in to Edit with
Password -" ebb"
and add your suggestions to the list.

Try to avoid the letter U and here are the names of the songs so far to give you some ideas:
Indian Ocean
Southpaw
Lady Liberty
Here are caught white falcons
IndepenDance Day
Two Trains Are Better Than One
Alaska: Lost & Found
Carefully Woven Network of Lies
Patriots of Absurdity
Burning Bush

besides working on this, we'll be touring in North West at the end of May and throughout the USA in July.

Ogust and Septomber
will be hard not to remember

we are a back. the tour was a screaming success (except for a few screaming disasters : van breaking down, lights out St. Louis, a lasting farewell present from a careless losangeleno and other unmentionables). We got a metric tonn of new friends and played with some decksellent bands (the Dimes (houston), Magic Surprise (austin), Uphollow (Denver) to name three). Now we're back in our city of francis, satisfied and ready to face a few months of regular life on the home front.
A big grizzly hug to all the fams and frans that hosted us, boasted about us and basted their allegorical turkeys for us. We have never been so drunk with appreciation.
(as soon as time permits)-->
look on the press page for new presses that we got on the tour
look on the imogens page for new pics from the tour
what's ahead? Mezzanine, Northwest Music Fest, CMJ and Acid Mother's Temple. And a green light that never goes out.

the second piece of cake is confirmation of us performing at

Ebb + Flow - A Second for DECEMBRR

The Title of our new album can be found amid the following citation:

Despite the effectiveness of echolocation, studies show that a visually-deprived dolphin takes more time to echolocate on an object than a dolphin using vision in tandem with echolocation (Akamatsu, et al., 1995).

Also this illustration is helpful-

here then is the proposed track list:
1. Sonorous
2. Firefly
3. Body and Soul

Ebb + Flow report: JUNE edition
As we are mourning the passing of one the worlds greatest presidents, that's presidents of JAZZ, Steve Lacy, we are behooved to look back at our own body of work and ask, have we done enough if one of us would perish tomorrow (from a mysterious fever)? And this dizzying retrospection yields one answer - no.

that's why the plans are now set in stone and blood to record a full length album in August.
our next show will be at BOTHon 6/25

nuws 10/03
Denning bears, including brown and black bears, are not true hibernators. Though their heart rate slows, their body temperature fails to undergo a dramatic decline, usually dropping to about 361K (Kelvin) from 365K. They may sleep deeply, but have no difficulty waking up.

Similarly, The Ebb & Flow are not true hibernators. Metaphorically, yes, but literally no.

Take for example the fact that The Ebb & Flow will be recording next week with friends Christian (name , not faith) Hanlon and Dave Dupuix (pronounciation to be confirmed later). They will be locked inside a turn-of-the century blacksmiths workshop-cum-21st century tunesmiths workshop hoping to emerge with 3 crisp new songs with which to taunt and tease prey. *Be on the lookout for a (cross-yer-fingers) 7" to be born in Spring of 2004. After that, The Ebb & Flow can be spotted on stage at Bottom of the Hill opening for Firewater on November 13.

the promissed Ebb-wear will be on sale then (tees, tube-tops and tanks).

news 9/03
the ebb and flow, like anyone with a smidgen of dignity, decided to quit the race. We are forming the 51st state with ourselves as governor. Get involved.
in other news, we are working on new songs for more recodings, which will be gutsier, furrier and different. Also there's going to be a merchandise section of the site soon, cause we got the sweatshop cranking out t-shirts and tubular-tops.
p.s.oranges that come all the way from China taste terrible.

knews 8/03
the ebb and flow, like anyone with any sense of nobility, is running for governor of California. We will go to Sacramento and CLEAN HOUSE!You can't trust those other candidates, because they are compulsive liars. We will really CLEAN HOUSE, when we go to Sacramento. The campaign kick-off party will be August 29th at the Bottom of the Hill with our running mates Gogol Bordello. Stay tuned for poster distribution and donor opportunities.
(But if you must support other candidates we strongly advise NOT to bring your baby to a Shwarzenegger rally for him to kiss. It might scar the baby, it must)

also we might be adding a bassist to our permanent line-up. more details as they develop.

remember to vote early, vote often and
with Ebb and Flow you'll get Quid pro Quo!
(p.s. we are working on a better slogan)

knews 7/03

the Ebb & Flow has wrapped up our first comprehensive tour of the North American Peninsula, our last show being at the Make Out Room.
